    • Animator’s Palate – Disney Fantasy

Posted at 9:07 pm by taryngirl, on December 10, 2019

      June 2019

This was our night to dine at Animator’s Palate.  This dining room is fun!  And dedicated to all things animation.  On a 7 night itinerary, you eat here twice.  The first night you get to hear from Crush from Finding Nemo.  He interacts directly with people at their tables kind of like Turtle Talk with Crush in Epcot!

      Here’s the dinner menu:

      fullsizeoutput_3b59fullsizeoutput_3b5a

      The adorable butter knife!

      fullsizeoutput_3b5b

My favorite item on the menu…Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes.  I personally ordered three of these and told them to bring them as my main meal!

      fullsizeoutput_3b5c

      Sliced Serrano Ham:

      fullsizeoutput_3b5d

Creamy Butternut Squash Soup.  I got this also and it was really good!  Nice and creamy and really good flavor.

      fullsizeoutput_3b5e

Pennete Bolognese.  My daughter ordered this.  It was just basic penne pasta.  I would choose something different!

      fullsizeoutput_3b5f

Ginger-Teriyaki Dusted Angus Beef Tenderloin.  I did have a bite of this and it was super tender!  Good flavor!

      fullsizeoutput_3b60

Lemon-Thyme Marinated All Natural Chicken Breast:

      fullsizeoutput_3b61

      Herb Crusted Pork Chop:

      fullsizeoutput_3b62

(I only commented on the ones I tasted!  I didn’t hear any bad reviews from anyone though.)

      fullsizeoutput_3b63

Cookies ‘n Cream Sundae.  I had this and it was a nice treat!

      fullsizeoutput_3b64

      Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake:

      fullsizeoutput_3b65

Our assistant waiter was really good at origami!  He made this cute dress for Kinsey.

      fullsizeoutput_3b66

Overall, I love this dining room.  It’s a little bit more laid back of an atmosphere and the theming is true Disney!

    • Royal Court Dinner Review

Posted at 2:32 pm by taryngirl, on October 18, 2019

      6/16/19

For dinner on our second night, we were scheduled in Royal Court.  This was also our formal night.  I requested a specific dining rotation so we would be all dressed up in this dining room!  This was in the most formal in my opinion.  It’s all about the princesses in here.

      fullsizeoutput_3b3b

I loved the special touch with the way the napkins were folded into shirts!  And the bread basket is my favorite.

      fullsizeoutput_3b3cfullsizeoutput_3b3efullsizeoutput_3b3f

Thinking back now, I did not get any pictures of the kid’s menu!

      Kid’s spaghetti:

      fullsizeoutput_3b40

      Kid’s pizza:

      fullsizeoutput_3b41

      Gaston’s Escargot Gratinee:

      fullsizeoutput_3b42

      Farmhouse Salad:

      fullsizeoutput_3b43

This was mine and I loved every bite of it.  The dressing is super light, and I like the addition of the sliced fingerling potatoes and goat cheese crouton.

Wild Mushroom Stuffed Pasta in a Vegetable Broth:

      fullsizeoutput_3b44

      Chateaubriand-Roasted Filet Steak:

      fullsizeoutput_3b45

This was mine and it was super tender and delicious.  It was really good dipped in the sauce.  It was the perfect portion size!

I don’t have a picture of the dessert menu, but this was some flavor of Creme Brûlée and some kind of soufflé.

      fullsizeoutput_3b46

This was an apple dessert and very good!

      fullsizeoutput_3b47

The chandelier in the Atrium, just outside of the restaurant:

      Grandparents with grandchildren:

      fullsizeoutput_3b49

Overall the meal was fantastic and the dining room was perfect!

    • Disney Fantasy – Palo Brunch Review

Posted at 12:38 pm by taryngirl, on October 9, 2019

Combining from my June and September 2019 cruises!

Palo is a specialty restaurant serving brunch on sea days, and nightly dinners for guests ages 18 and older only.  You must have reservations to dine here, and those can be made online during your check-in process for the cruise itself.  I’m not going to lie…these reservations sell out quickly and are hard to get!  But are TOTALLY worth it!  (If you cannot make a reservation online, upon embarking, you can head directly to Palo and try to make reservations then.  I’ve done this twice successfully.). There is a dress code, as this is more upscale than the main dining rooms.  Be sure to check that when you are packing for the cruise!

      The view!

Included are mimosas or a glass of champagne.

After being led to our table, the waiter explained the dining process.  There is a menu to order from, as well as a “buffet” style set up.  The meal is slowwwwww.  You are not rushed and can spend as much time as you need.

Here’s my first plate from the buffet section:

      fullsizeoutput_3b2b

The cinnamon roll was SO GOOD!  Warm and gooey.  And the parmesan cheese…I couldn’t get enough of it!

The first table…filled with delicious fruit, breads and pastries.  The almond croissant was one of my favorites!

      fullsizeoutput_3b2cfullsizeoutput_3b2d

The next table was full of seafood offerings, caviar, vegetables, and more!

      fullsizeoutput_3b2e

The third table had a variety of cheeses, olives, meats, etc.

      fullsizeoutput_3b2ffullsizeoutput_3b30

You may make as many trips up to these tables as you wish!

Here is the menu we ordered from for made to order items:

      IMG_1653

      Heirloom Tomato and Basil Soup:

      fullsizeoutput_3b31

Parmesan Crusted Chicken Breast:  This is my favorite food on any of the Disney Cruise ships!  It’s SO GOOD!  And the Risotto is perfect with this.  This is 80% why I schedule this brunch on every cruise.

      fullsizeoutput_3b32

      Celery Soup:

      fullsizeoutput_3b33

      Roasted Red Snapper Filet:

      fullsizeoutput_3b34

Lasagna Bolognaise:  I also was able to taste this.  It was good but I feel like since we were one of the last tables for the day, it was sitting for awhile maybe??  It’s a good shareable option though!

      fullsizeoutput_3b35

      The dessert table:

      IMG_1660IMG_1661IMG_1662

I love that the portions are small so we can try a bunch of different things!

      June cruise:

      fullsizeoutput_3b36

Our waiter also brought us several of these lava cakes to share.  They were good but we were SO FULL!

      fullsizeoutput_3b37

      September cruise:

      IMG_1663

      (Apparently I have my favorites!)

It was my niece’s graduation celebration on this cruise and they brought here this:

      fullsizeoutput_3b38

If I didn’t comment on the food, that means it was someone else’s but I just took a picture to share!

This is hands down one of my favorite parts of the cruise!  It’s $40 per person, and that is charged to your stateroom account.  I highly suggest trying it at least once!

    • Disney Fantasy Cruise Line – Embarkation Day and Cabin Tour

Posted at 2:11 pm by taryngirl, on August 3, 2019

      June 15, 2019

The day had finally come!  The day we embarked on the Disney Fantasy Cruise Line, for an Eastern Caribbean cruise!  We had been preparing for this for over a year for my niece’s graduation.

(We had rented a car through Hertz from MCO, and returned it the night prior to leaving for the cruise.  Hertz was right in the parking lot of our hotel.  My husband spoke with them when returning the car and explained we were going on the cruise in the morning.  They told him we could come back and take the shuttle the morning of the cruise.)

      fullsizeoutput_3e14

Here we are at Hertz waiting for the shuttle to the port.

      fullsizeoutput_3e18

And here we are with the rest of our travel party!  They had rented cars from another place, so we just met once inside the terminal.

      fullsizeoutput_3e1c

Priority upon embarking for our family:

      • Head straight up to the pool deck and secure some seats near the pool.
      • Ride the Aquaduck.
      • Eat some lunch.
      • Head to Palo to secure brunch if unable prior.
      • 1:30 p.m. Head to our cabin to drop off carry ons and unpack a little bit.
      • Go to the DVC Member party.
      • Go to the Facebook meet up.
      • Check out kid club open houses.
      • Head to the sail away party.

Here is a tour of our Stateroom #2550 which is a Deluxe Oceanview:

      fullsizeoutput_3e28fullsizeoutput_3e29fullsizeoutput_3e2afullsizeoutput_3e2b

(I forgot to snap a picture, but the couch flips down to a twin sized bed and the other bed comes down from the ceiling.)

      fullsizeoutput_3e2c

These extra goodies can be ordered through DCL, except for the sling bag.  That is a gift from DCL for returning cruisers.  The owner of my travel agency, Mad Hatter Adventures, had sent us these goodies!

      fullsizeoutput_3e2dfullsizeoutput_3e2efullsizeoutput_3e2f

After checking out our room, we went to the DVC Member party.  They usually have a character of some sort, and this time it was Princess Tiana!

      fullsizeoutput_3e32

One plus is you get a free drink and some bottled water.

      fullsizeoutput_3e3c

The spillway party is always fun!  We go to deck 12 so we can look down on the party and also look over the railing as we are sailing out.

      fullsizeoutput_3e3f

      The DCL terminal.

      fullsizeoutput_3e41

This area is full of restaurants!  We ate here the night before sailing.
