We had to check out of the Beach Club today, and make our way to All Star Movies to check in.
Our big plan for this day was to wake up, and head over to France in Epcot to get breakfast at Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie. Then come back to the Beach Club and enjoy Stormalong Bay until the afternoon.
*This post will have a picture of almost EVERY item offered at this quick service location!*
In all seriousness, this is probably the longest line we stood in line during the entire trip! People love their pastries! We waited more than a half hour.
Once inside, there are SOME tables, and a queue to get to the ordering counter.
Here is everything that was offered in the cases this particular day (the item names are pictured underneath):
Our plan anytime we order something is to share! So with this many options, we had some trouble deciding what to get. I branched out and got something that I have never ordered before…
Poulet au Pistou–Chicken breast with cheese, tomato, red onion, and pesto. The chicken was very thinly sliced. It was warmed up and was delicious! I would absolutely get this again.
Chrissy ordered the Croissant Jambon Fromage–Ham, cheese and bechamel in a croissant. This is normally what I order every single time. This was also warmed up and amazing as usual!
We also got a baguette. This bread is the most amazing bread ever. Just ask for butter at the register when checking out! It’s warm and perfect.
We also got two desserts to bring back to the room for later…the Croissant Amandes–Chocolate croissant with almond filling, and one that had apple in it. Both were also very good!
This remains my favorite counter service in all of Epcot and I will continue to go there every trip regardless of the size of the line…
We had mobile ordered our lunch from ABC Commissary, and our pick up time was 11:50-12:20. This is what you see once you place your order:
Once your arrival window opens, you can click a button that says Prepare My Order.
Once you arrive to pick up your food, you are greeted at the entrance by a cast member with an iPad. They check to make sure you are on the list to receive your food, and then you may enter. We were able to find a table easily, and it was definitely more quiet than we were used to in here!
My mom ordered the Mediterranean Salad with Chicken. $11.99–Chicken breast served over mixed greens with tomatoes, cucumber, pepperoncini, kalamata olives, and feta, tossed in a Mediterranean vinaigrette with hummus and grilled flatbread.
This was a nice, light, refreshing dish and a fairly large portion.
My sister-in-law ordered the Curry Rice Bowl with Shrimp. $13.99–sauteed shrimp and vegetables with red curry sauce, served with jasmine coconut rice.
I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich. $10.99–grilled sourdough toasted with buffalo chicken, Monterey, provolone, cheddar and cream cheese, served with a side of buffalo sauce and fries (you get a choice of sides.)
This was SO GOOD! My daughter split this with me and she also loved it. Think buffalo chicken dip inside a grilled cheese. Why haven’t I thought of this sooner??!! Here’s a close up of the inside:
My daughter ordered the Chicken Club $12.49. Marinated chicken breast served on a toasted brioche bun, topped with bacon, provolone, guacamole, ranch dressing, lettuce and tomato, served with choice of side.
This was also very good! Everyone loved their food and we will definitely come back here.
I like that the options are different than the normal quick service options. There’s also a lot of indoor seating to get out of the heat.

One of the main goals of this trip of mine, was to check out the process of securing a boarding group and ride Rise of the Resistance! Park opening was 7 a.m., so our goal was to be at the park by 6:30 a.m. at the latest. At the moment, you have to be through the gates before 7 a.m. (park opening) so that you can be on the app to secure your spot.
Everyone in the party must be scanned into the park. You cannot send one person to the park to secure for everyone.
We planned to take a Lyft from All Star Movies to Hollywood Studios. We were in the lobby by 6 a.m. summoning our pick up. I do want to note that the whole time we were sitting there waiting, we did not see one bus come to pick anyone up. So we were happy with our decision to Lyft! Apparently we were not the only ones…this whole line of cars are Lyft/Uber drop offs! (Lyft/Uber drop off is closer than the buses. It’s a short walk to the entrance.)
There was no real line at security, so we got right in.
This is the line before scanning into the gates.
This is behind me.
Once onto Hollywood Boulevard, they don’t stop you at the end anymore. You can go in the shops, get coffee, or proceed to either the Galaxy’s Edge area, or Toy Story Land area. I walked by so fast that I don’t even know what was happening on Sunset Boulevard on the way to Rock N Roller Coaster! You may be able to line up there too??
We headed directly to Toy Story Land. They stopped people from entering the actual land, but had us gathered down the whole lane leading to it. They were telling people, DO NOT GO THIS WAY FOR GALAXY’S EDGE! (There is an entrance to Galaxy’s Edge through Toy Story Land.). That entrance was closed off, so don’t try to take a shortcut or avoid the Galaxy’s Edge crowd through the normal entrance! We had about a half hour to wait until 7 a.m.
At 7 a.m. on the nose, you could hear the murmurs of the crowds and gradually cheering as people secured their boarding group! On this particular day, in order to get a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance, which is the only way to ride this new ride, you have to log onto the My Disney Experience app at posted park opening time. Smack dab in the middle of the screen is Star Wars: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE–ACCESS BY BOARDING GROUP. You click on that and then JOIN BOARDING GROUP. Here you will select those in your party and then it will hopefully generate your boarding group number.
You can check the land status throughout the day. Just click on the FIND OUT MORE again and it will tell you what groups are currently boarding. We were able to enjoy most of the rest of the park until our group was called, including our 3 FP+.
Simultaneously, the line started moving for the opening of the park. We were rope dropping Slinky Dog Dash since we couldn’t get a FP+ for it. This is my favorite ride in this park!
After getting off, we checked the wait time for Toy Story Mania, and it was already long, so we bailed on that and Alex got some breakfast at Woody’s Lunch Box. She chose the kid’s meal: S’more French Toast Sandwich–Sandwich Half with Marshmallow and Chocolate Ganache stuffed in Grilled Custard soaked Brioche encrusted with Graham Cracker Crumbs served with a Cuties® Mandarin and Potato Barrels with your choice of Beverage $6.19.
She liked it! Kid’s meals are so underrated. It’s the perfect portion size, especially for breakfast, and it comes with the two sides AND a drink.
I also want to mention Mobile Ordering. I encourage you to use it! Below you can see the line just to order your food. You can skip that by ordering on the My Disney Experience app. It’s very user friendly, you can see pictures of the food when you order, and you can customize things. You skip the ordering line and head to the Mobile Ordering Pick Up Window once you arrive at the location.
This is especially helpful during super busy meal times. You can order when you are on the other side of the park, away from the location, and just select that you are here when you get closer. When using Mobile Ordering, you pay directly through the app with the credit card on file or add a new card, or use your Disney Dining Plan.
Once finished with her breakfast, we used our Toy Story Mania FP+ before heading into Galaxy’s Edge for my breakfast.

August 2018
On our departure day, we had some time to kill, so we hopped on the monorail and made a stop at the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. The Grand Floridian is so…..GRAND! I absolutely love the lobby. At any given time there may be live music, it smells so good, and the decor is amazing. I had been wanting to try the quick service option, Gasparilla Island Grill, so that was our choice for a meal. To get to the restaurant, you actually walk through the lobby and exit the back doors.
The “food area” is u-shaped. On the left you can get pastries and order specialty coffees.
Straight ahead is the “hot” section. Sandwiches, pizzas, etc.
And then on the right you can get cold sandwiches or salads.
This is Kinsey’s kid pizza, and not pictured is the Artisan Burger. I forgot to get a picture! Everything was really good and I would definitely return here to eat again for lunch or dinner.
One other note…there is both indoor and outdoor seating here. It was way too hot to sit outside, but it would be very pleasant if the weather was normal. The scenery is really nice!
After breakfast at All Star Movies, we headed to Epcot. We got there around 11:30 a.m. We were in no rush. We had some FP+ scheduled and were really having a leisurely day.
We noticed that Spaceship Earth had been down all morning, but when we walked through the gates they must have just opened up. So we hopped right on it with no wait! It was my most unusual ride this time. Our car was very jerky and squeaky, and our little interactive screen on the way down wasn’t working correctly.
From there we needed to head to our Frozen Ever After FP+. We cut through the walkway to the left and got some good views of the scenery being set up for the Flower & Garden Festival.
It really was a perfect day weather wise!
We didn’t eat here, but I snapped a quick picture of the current Quick Service Menu at La Cantina de San Angel. This is located right on the water outside of the Mexico pavilion.
This is the menu for the Mexico table service restaurant that is open for dinner, La Hacienda de San Angel. This is located outside of the Mexico pavilion on the water, and is only open for dinner.
Much to our delight, some of the topiaries were up! In Norway:
After riding Frozen Ever After, we were deciding what we wanted to eat for lunch. We planned to snack around at some quick service places, but we weren’t TOO hungry yet. We had eaten in China last time and I LOVED IT! So that was on my mind…
We took a quick jaunt through the shops here. It’s one of my favorite…maybe because I am part Chinese? Maybe because I love what they offer? I’m not sure!
When exiting out the back, we came across this neat find:
I was trying to ask the man questions, but he was taking pictures and trying to get people to purchase. I didn’t know if it was a temporary thing, part of Flower & Garden that would be starting, etc. Later on, he actually was carrying one through the Lotus Blossom and showing people who were eating there.
Of course I decided I wanted to eat at the Lotus Blossom Cafe. This was the current menu at the time. It had different things on it since we had eaten there in January!
I went with the Beef Noodle Mongolian Style. This has a little kick, so be aware! But it was so good!
After that, we continued through the countries until it was time to head to our Nemo FP+. We took the boat back to the other side.
We had time before our FP+ and wanted to shop, so we went to MouseGear first. This is one of my favorite shops anywhere! (I made a purchase but had absolutely NO room left to take anything back since I only had a backpack. I had it shipped directly to my house for somewhere around $7!)
After our Nemo FP+ we went over to the Land pavilion for a snack. On the way down to Sunshine Seasons, we stopped at this little counter area at the exit of the Living With the Land ride. They had these super cute plants!
If I had space in my luggage, I would have purchased one of these! It’s the perfect gift for my youngest daughter, and so neat to think we have a piece of “the Land” in our home!
We were in the dessert mood, and couldn’t decide between these two things:
A fabulous piece of Carrot Cake.
A Whoopie Pie.
The Carrot Cake was the for sure winner! It was SO GOOD. Moist and amazing frosting. The Whoopie Pie was just ehhhh. I doubt I would get it again.
We had one more FP+ to use here at Journey Into Imagination With Figment. As soon as we used it, Chrissy was on the app securing another FP+. We decided to head over to Hollywood Studios because she was able to get SLINKY DOG DASH!!!
In case you wondered…here are three different flavors of popcorn located near the entrance to Figment! To my knowledge, you can get the refills in your bucket with these flavors.
We stopped at Guest Services on the way to the bus to Hollywood Studios to see if they still had any Figment magnets for Annual Passholders…SCORE! They did. We did have to show our AP and he did look us up online.
The V.I.Passholder Event is the entire reason we took this quick trip! It was advertised we could check in from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. However, we noticed this set up in Fantasyland and had a chat with the Cast Members. They said we could check in starting at 5:00 p.m. So we did! There were a few different check in areas around the park so we didn’t have to go all the way out to the entrance to get our wristbands.
They actually were having technical difficulties with the iPads that were scanning our Annual Passes or MagicBands. She ended up having to manually input our numbers.
You can see the time of the even was 10:00 p.m. until midnight officially.
After we got our wristbands, we headed to use our next FP+ that Chrissy secured immediately after Winnie the Pooh. This would make FP+ #5 for the day. It’s a Small World!
I swear I see something different every time I ride this!
Right after we scanned in to the ride, my friend secured our 6th FP+…Pirates of the Caribbean.
We were getting hungry for dinner, and we had discussed previously that neither of us had ever eaten at Casey’s Corner! So that’s where we decided to go. It’s located on the corner at the end of Main Street, and you can definitely smell it when you walk past! We knew we were going to share something and decided on…
Buffalo Chicken Loaded Fries (These were AMAZING! I loved them!)
Footlong Chili Cheese Dog (Also AMAZING!)
The fries were so good. I can’t imagine Buffalo chicken on a hot dog though! I despise the yellow squeeze cheese. So was super happy that this was shredded cheese on the top! This was plenty of food for two of us. They did allow us to upgrade from regular fries that come with the meal, to the specialty fries for a slight uncharge.
From dinner we headed to Adventureland. We had a little bit of time to kill before our FP+ at Pirates, so we went into Tortuga Tavern to have a seat and do some work on our phones. It was starting to become a more regular rain so we had to poncho up! (I never take a Disney vacation without a poncho.)
After Pirates, we hit our 7th FP+ Splash Mountain. It had started raining and we were wet anyway, and we had ponchos to wear the entire time! So off we went.
After Splash Mountain, we headed towards the castle. We had reservations for the After Fireworks Dessert Party, so we had to check in first at Tomorrowland Terrace.
We received our wristbands and were escorted to one of the grassy areas.
Even though it was raining, the fireworks were still amazing!

Our plan was to be up and out of the room early today, but we got a late start! We got to the bus stop at 9:20 a.m. and ended up not getting to Animal Kingdom until 10:20. There were 4 scooters waiting to get on! So we missed our Safari FastPass+.
We did make it to our second FastPass+, Dinosaur! This is my favorite ride in AK.
I think Kaylee is screaming in Alex’s ear here…hahahahaha.
Donald’s Dino-Bash was happening while we were there. The whole land is transformed into a celebration. There are special character spots with Launchpad McQuack and others!
Kinsey had her very first meet and greet ever with Pocahontas! She spent several minutes with her. It was very special! These are all PhotoPass pictures.
We stopped to enjoy It’s Tough to be a Bug on the way over to Pandora. This can be scary for little kids believe it or not. At one point it gets pitch black while spiders descend from the ceiling and smoke blows into the room!
From there we headed over to Pandora for our Flights of Passage FastPass+. Sadly I don’t ride this because of my motion sick issues.
I spent some time watching this man in the utility suit while I waited.
This is one of my favorite backdrops for pictures! It’s become a tradition now so I take pictures of my daughters here each time.
Lunch was of course at my favorite Satul’i Canteen.
Cheeseburger Steamed Pod (Kid’s Meal)–Steamed Cheeseburger Pod stuffed with Ground Beef, Ketchup, Mustard, Pickle and Cheddar Cheese served with Vegetable Chips and Grapes. It also comes with a drink (not pictured).
We cut this and shared it amongst everyone. It’s very good! It’s a nice little appetizer.
Chopped Wood Grilled Chicken Bowl–Choice of base (I did rice!), wood grilled chicken, vegetable slaw, with your choice of sauce.
This is my go to and one of my favorite quick service meals in all of Disney! I say this in every trip report, but it’s a nice change from the regular offerings.
I always get all 3 sauces and mix them together in my bowl!
Chili Garlic Shrimp Bowl–Shrimp tossed in chili garlic sauce with noodles and vegetable slaw
This is a little bit spicy! Spicier than anyone was anticipating. But still good!
Slow Roasted Sliced Grilled Beef Bowl–Slow roasted marinated beef with choice of base and vegetable slaw with bobos.
The inside of the restaurant:
This was my first time watching UP! A Great Bird Adventure Show since it changed from Flights of Wonder. I reallllly loved the Flights of Wonder show. I think it was an often forgot about experience in Animal Kingdom.
The new show was okay. It wasn’t my favorite though! Some of the elements were the same as the old show. And some were new. I encourage you to check it out at least once!

We had 9:30 a.m. breakfast reservations at Be Our Guest. Since we were staying at Bay Lake Tower, we walked over! It’s a quick, short, painless walk. And you have your own security on the walkway over, so you avoid the mass screening lines once you arrive.
We were meeting my cousin in front of Be Our Guest, and made it there just in time. This gentleman greeted us on the walk across the bridge.
So many fun details in this restaurant!
These fellas are lined up along where you wait to order.
Be Our Guest is one of the few Quick Service locations that accept Advanced Dining Reservations. You can also order ahead for breakfast or lunch up to 30 days prior to your reservation. Under My Reservations a link will appear next to your reservation. You don’t have to do this though if you are not sure what you want! I can be indecisive so I never order ahead. I like to see what I’m hungry for once I get there. ***NOTE! This is from August. Pricing has gone up since then and is not $28 for an entree! the menu itself is also different now! They have added just waffles, French toast sticks, etc.
Ordering is done on a touchscreen or with a live person. They had both when we were there.
Breakfast and lunch seating is wherever you can find a spot! There are three different “rooms” that you can choose from…Grand Ballroom, Rose Garden, and West Wing. The Grand Ballroom has the most seating. For dinner you are seated where they put you.
Grand Ballroom:
West Wing:
I like to eat in the West Wing if I can find a table! The rose is in this room and the room goes through a transformation as time goes on.
For breakfast, you get a plate of pastries for your party. My cousin and I ordered separately, so they got their own plate. So this was just for 2 of us! I didn’t order Kinsey an entree or meal here. I knew she would just eat these pastries!
My meal:
Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich–Poached Eggs, Applewood Bacon, Brie Cheese, and Arugula on a Croissant served with Fresh Fruit.
I loved this actually. I have a hard time paying $25 for a breakfast though! So we definitely don’t eat here every trip. It’s more of a splurge. It IS a good value on the dining plan for a Quick Service though. A beverage also comes along with the entree.
My cousin’s:
Vegetable Quiche–Mushroom, Zucchini, Bell Pepper, Onion and Chive Quiche served with Fresh Fruit
My cousin’s:
Feast A La Gaston–Scrambled Eggs, Herb-Roasted Potatoes, Apple Smoked Bacon, and Sausage served with Fresh Fruit
After our yummy breakfast, we hit some rides in Fantasyland on the way to our first Fastpass+ at Haunted Mansion.

Being a Disney Vacation Club Member does have some perks! There are some special events held throughout the year for us. We were lucky that one was happening while we were there! I also was luckily able to get tickets…these events sell out quickly! It’s a free event, but they limit the number of people.
The event time was 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., however attendees could start entering at 6 p.m. Upon arrival, we were given our food vouchers (a quick service meal was included), a wristband and a map/schedule of events through a special check in line.
Each person was given a voucher for a quick service meal available at one of the locations listed above.
We headed straight for Sunshine Seasons!
Mongolian Beef–Mongolian Beef and Vegetables served with Rice (You can pick from fried or white rice). $13.49
This was my meal. I never really get to eat lunch here. Usually only breakfast because I am waiting while people are riding Soarin’. This was good! The dessert was the Key Lime Tart, and one of my favorites! I did pay out of pocket for the dessert here.
(I have no idea which this is!)
This was a special for the evening I believe, as I can’t find it on the regular menu!
Slow Roasted Pork Loin–Slow Roasted with Mashed Potatoes, Barbecue Sauce (she got it without) and Corn on the Cob $13.99
I think this was just okay. A little bit dry if I recall.
When we were finished eating, we headed towards Spaceship Earth. (We had FP+ for this evening! We were able to make them for regular park hours before the official party started.)
After our Spaceship Earth FP+, we headed to our Test Track FP+.
It was really hot and muggy this evening. Another perk for the party was unlimited fountain beverages. We stopped in Electric Umbrella for some drinks and for Kinsey’s meal of Chicken Nuggets.
Mousegears is one of my favorite stores! So of course I had to check it out and see what seasonal merchandise they had.
They have really stepped up their game! It used to just be a few t-shirts. If you happen to come unprepared for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, don’t worry! They have plenty you can choose from!
From here, my cousin and her family wanted to meet Sebastian. He had one of the longest lines! Kinsey and I rode Nemo while they waited. There was a steel drum band for entertainment while waiting in the line!
We went from there to the dance party that was happening with a live DJ. Kinsey couldn’t get enough!
It was soon time for the fireworks, so we walked to the edge of the World Showcase.
After that, we were pretty tired, so we headed back to the resort.
Overall, it was a really fun time! There were other rare characters to meet but that wasn’t our focus. We just wanted to have a good time and hit a few rides. Oh, and have a Mickey Bar! I would definitely do this again if we happened to be there during these special events.

We continued on to Hogsmeade and headed straight for Three Broomsticks! We got there at a really good time. There actually is a queue outside so the cash register areas do not get too jammed, and so the doors are not blocked for those who are exiting. We luckily avoided this and walked right inside. Here’s a picture of the breakfast menu that they serve. And the lunch menu:We already knew we were all going to get The Great Feast! When getting the feast, you cannot use a quick service credit per person.
Once you are in the line inside, the first person you get to will tell you what register number to go to. You place your order at the register and they normally hand you your food right there. We were such a big group with 3 orders of the feast, so they just gave us our drinks and brought our food to the table. We were given a number to put on our table.
There is another person who seats you. I think this is to avoid people saving seats.
The chicken was moist, and the ribs were good! I loved the potatoes and the vegetables. I could do without the corn on the cob.
I really enjoyed this meal! I thought it was really good. When looking at the price, it almost seems cheaper to order just a single serving per person. But it was fun to get it in a feast!
